Hi Reinhardt, Thanks for the comment. SEO is certainly vital and it should not be the only strategy one needs to look at when marketing a site, but I disagree that SEO alone is a waste of bandwith. I do however understand what you're saying and agree that once the visitor arrives at the site where SEO has been implement, there needs to be a call-to-action or at least useful information on the site.

A "direct response" alone again is not the only solution but certainly helps. A site that not only gives good content but also involves the user is best. Integration is the answer - provide content, a social element (blog/forum), call-to-action, easy to find contact form, etc - this will add value.

Finally, Rob Stokes is well-known in the SEM industry. He is currently the CEO of Quirk eMarketing and the author of "eMarketing, the essential guide to online marketing". Take it from me that his comment and reputation is credible. :)

SEO is vital for any online and offline business. But it's not the only thing that carries weight. Without direct response integrated into the person's website, SEO will result in a waste of bandwidth in my opinion.

I haven't heard of this Rob Stokes before though. But I'll check out his site for credibility.

Regards,
Reinhardt
